Q:
What makes a nanny/family relationship last longer?
It is always wonderful to find a nanny who fulfills
your family's needs; however, every relationship, whether
personal or profession, has bumps along the way. Please
visit our pay on Tips on Solid Relationships for some
insight on long-lasting relationships.

Q.
What is your replacement policy?
One way to pick out a confident and dependable
agency is to seek out their replacement policy. At the
Nanny Exchange, we stand by our 3 month / 90 day agreement
which is explained on our page called Our Guarantee and is
included in the Employer/ Agency Contract of the Family
Application. Trust us, you will know in 90 days. This is
ample time to know whether or not you like someone and the
job their doing in your home.
Q.
What are your agency's credentials?
The Nanny Exchange feels confident competing with
the best of the best! Not only have we been in the
business for more than 15 years, but we have kept with the times!

Q.
How long will it take to hire a nanny?
Our agency prides itself on prompt same-day service.
If your family application is into our office by noon, you
will begin to receive applications by 4:00pm. If you start
on a Monday, you usually receive about 6 - 9 candidates by
Wednesday and are ready to do a trial day by Friday with
the nanny you want to hire. To learn more about our
procedure, see our page on Step-by-Step Procedure.
Q:
Live-in or live-out? Do I save money?
Many of our families wonder if they will save money
by having a live-in nanny or if room and board will pay
for the nanny's services; however, having a live-in nanny
is by no means less expensive and accommodations must
appropriate and comfortable. Additionally, it takes a rare
and special person to fulfill the position of a live-in
nanny; thus, these positions are more delicate due to the
intricate match to be made.
Q:
What happens when my nanny is sick, on holiday, or has an
emergency?
After registering with the Nanny Exchange, temporary
nannies may be provided on various occasions to fill in
during daytime, evening, or weeks in which the family will
be charged $25 dollars daily. Temporary nannies can even
be provided with as little as 24 hour notice! Families can
rest assured that all nannies who are accepted by the
Nanny Exchange meet the same standards.
Q:
What happens if we have another child?
Families should be realistic in knowing that an
additional child, especially a newborn, is an added
workload for their nanny. With the changing circumstances,
the nanny/family agreement (which is included in the
Family Application) should be renegotiated in various ways
including number of hours per week, daily and weekly
schedule of events, and hourly pay.
Q:
Will a nanny travel with our family?
Having a nanny on vacation is a wonderful luxury!
It's great for two busy parents to be able to have fun
with their children and then have time as a couple as
well. If you are aware of upcoming vacations when hiring
your nanny, provide her with the dates as soon as
possible, so that she could see if it would fit into her
schedule. Additionally, the Nanny Exchange can find one of
our many temporary nannies that could take time out to
travel with your family. |
